Departure from Delhi in the evening by Volvo Bus, Overnight journey to Dharamsala.

Arrival in Dharamsala (1457 mts/ 4780 ft) in morning. Transfer to Hotel. First half of the day at leisure. Visit Norbulingka Institute, dedicated to preserve Tibetan culture in its literary and artistic forms is beautifully designed by a Japanese Architect and is worth a visit. One can also opt for lunch or snacks at cafeteria here that serves excellent delicacies. Finally, in the evening, visit beautifully located Monastery at Sidhpur (846 mts/ 2800 ft) which is seat of 17th Karmapa Lama. O/n Hotel.
After Breakfast, leave for full day tour of upper Dharamsala & Mcleodgunj (2082 mts/ 6825 ft). Distance travelled today – 50 Kms, Time for tour & sight-seeing – approximately 7 hrs.
Start with Kangra Art & Folk Museum which is treasure of Kangra Valley’s cultural past, crafts, arts and other ancient artifacts. Some of the displayed items in the museum date back to the 5th century. Kangra Museum encloses a gallery consisting of miniature paintings of Kangra’s rich past, pottery, rare coin memorabilia, sculptures and anthropological materials. It has a varied collection of tribal jewelry, embroidered costumes and wood carvings. Proceed to visit Dal Lake and Naddi village, where you get the closest site of Dhauladhar Mountains. St. John’s Church in wilderness built in 1852 set amidst thick forest and Bhagsu waterfalls is another exquisite site. Explore interesting Mcleodgunj market and walk to famous Tibetan Monastery and residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama in Exile. O/n Hotel.

Explore ancient rock temple of Baijnath (1314 mts/ 4311 ft) dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is 1000 years old. This is very scenic drive which goes through vast valley expanse with Tea Gardens of Palampur covering the majority of the land mass. There are numerous streams flowing from the mountains to the plains from Palampur (1472 mts/ 4830 ft). The combination of greenery and water gives Palampur a distinctive look with plains on one side and the majestic snow covered hills on the other side. Sojourn at Neugal café for evening Tea break from where you can have an endearing view of the Dhauladhar Mountains as well as the Neugal chasm. O/n Hotel.

Visit historical Kangra fort (733 mts/ 2400 ft), which is largest fort in the Himalayas and probably the oldest dated fort in India. It was controlled by numerous dynasties of Moghuls, Rajputs, Gurkhas and Sikhs throughout the history before getting ruined in 1905 earthquake. Situated on a hilltop, it offers commanding views of mighty Dhauladhar Range and the Kangra valley below.
