Tiny lake of Beas Kund (3690 mts) lying below Pir Panjal and above verdant Solang of Kullu valley owes mythological significance and its name to the legendary poet and sage Vyas, who mediated at this place. Besides being revered as sacred, Beas Kund is where the river Beas originates from and offer spectacular views of the nearby located Shitidhar, Ladakhi, Friendship and Hanuman Tibba peaks. This popular well beaten trail takes you through an expanse of picturesque landscapes and offers panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar range of mountains. The trek amidst tall trees and by the vibrant gurgling river is ideal for all the people in any age groups with or without any prior trekking experience.

Day 1: Arrival in Manali (1950 mts)

Transfer to Hotel. Spend few hours walking around the town to acclimatize yourself to the surroundings. Visit famous Hadimba temple and walk to interesting Old Manali. O/n Hotel.

Day 2. Drive to Solang (2650 mts), 15 kms, Trek to Dhundi (2840mts) and Bakar Thach (3270 mts), 13 Kms, 7 hours

After early breakfast drive to Solang, a popular alpine meadow surrounded by green forests and hillocks. A gentle walk of 8 kms through oak and fir forests along the wooded bank of River Beas is an experience in itself. Dhundi is a beautiful meadow in the midst of fir trees, with high mountains towering above. Beyond Dhundi, trek takes us over rocky terrain and moraines to the pastures of Bakarthach meaning place for shepherd’s temporary dwelling. The view of Mt Friendship against the backdrop of the clear, blue sky, and the `seven sister peaks' to its left present a magnificent sight. One can also view the Shitidhar Peak, Laddakhi Peak, Hanuman Tibba and other peaks as well. O/n Camp.

Day 3. Bakar Thach to Beas Kund (3690 mts.) and Back to Bakar Thach, 7 hrs

A gradual climb of about three hours to reach Beas Kund. The serene lake, surrounded by snow-covered mountains, peaks and glaciers, takes on the blue hue of the sky, giving it an enchanting glow. Prominent is the Hanuman Tibba massif above 5000 meters is an eight-km long glacier giving birth to the main stream of the Beas. Trek a little above the lake to have a grand view of these mighty mountains. Retrace back to Bakarthach camp for overnight stay.

Day 4. Bakar Thach to Solang, 5 hours and Drive back to Manali

An easy descent to follow to trek back to Solang. Sojourn at Solang. Indulging in adventure sports like Paragliding is optional. Simply taking a break here is refreshing before boarding a car to drive back to Manali. O/n Hotel.

Day 5

Relaxed morning followed by check out in afternoon. Explore local market and board Volvo bus in the evening for overnight return journey to Delhi or take a cab for onward/return journey.
